The special characters of the nature and history of the Pasvik-Inari-Pechenga area attract visitors. The area has a great potential for developing sustainable nature based tourism to promote and strengthen local socio-economy and employment. However, the sub-arctic nature is vulnerable and sensitive towards human impacts. Tourism has to be well planned and managed in order to stay on a sustainable basis. Common guiding principles for sustainable nature based tourism were developed in 2007.

Common meetings and educational events are organised when possible by the cooperation partners for tourist entrepreneurs and local stakeholders.
